The “Stay in Buy Box” section is designed to maximize your duration in the Buy Box through various repricing tactics and approaches, all of which are accessible in the Buy Box settings. The strategies outlined in the "Stay in Buy Box" section will influence how your listing is repriced when you are in the Buy Box.

This article will proceed to explore the purpose and functionality of each setting in detail.

Lower or Raise my Buy Box Price

This setting operates in two steps:

  1. Check whether you are the lowest price. If not, this setting will lower your price by the specified amount.
  2. If you are already the lowest price, the system will check if your price can be raised. If your price can be raised, this setting will raise your price by the specified amount.

Example 1:

  • Competitor 1: $14.00
  • (Buy Box) You: $15.00
  • Competitor 2: $16

The setting will first check if you are the lowest price. Since you are not, it will lower your price. The lowest-priced competitor is $14, so you will be repriced to $13.99.

Example 2:

  • (Buy Box) You: $13.99
  • Competitor 1: $14.50
  • Competitor 2: $16.00

The setting will first check if you are the lowest price. Since you are, it will then check if your price can be raised. If Competitor 1 raised their price, the Buy Box Setting will allow you to follow the competition back up.
The next highest competitor is at $14.50, so your price will be raised to $14.49.

Example 3:

  • (Buy Box) You: $11.00
  • Competitor 1 (Non-Featured): $11.00
  • Competitor 2 (FBA): $11.00
  • Competitor 3 (FBA): $12.00

Since you are the lowest price, and the next Buy Box eligible competitor (Competitor 2) is equal to your price, the system will reprice your listing with this formula:

Raise my Buy Box price to $0.01 below the competitor’s price => Competitor 2 - $0.01 = $11.00 - $0.01 = $10.99. Your newly adjusted price = $10.99, which is lower than my Buy Box price.

In this specific scenario, the system will comply with "Raise within" rule but will lower your price to stay competitive.

When Repricing Central attempts to raise the Buy Box Price to increase profit, but the next higher Buy Box eligible competitor equals the user's current Buy Box Price, the system will still target the competitor with the same Buy Box price as the baseline.

If the system skips the next Buy Box eligible competitor who offers the same price and targets the subsequent one with a higher price than the current Buy Box Price, the system anticipates a high risk of losing the Buy Box position to the competitor with an equal price to the current Buy Box Price.

In this scenario, a specified amount set by the user will be deducted, resulting in your new price being even lower than the current Buy Box Price.

Raise my Buy Box Price to Maximize Profit

When you are in the Buy Box, the system will adjust Your Price to be $0.01 below your next competitor (Competitor's Price - $0.01). This strategy is designed to maximize your profit margins.

Example 1:

  • Competitor 1: $14.00
  • (Buy Box) You: $15.00
  • Competitor 2: $16.00
Your next Buy Box eligible competitor is priced at $16.00 and your price will be raised to $15.99.

Example 2:

  • Competitor 1 (FBA): $10.00
  • (Buy Box) You: $11.00
  • Competitor 2 (Non-Featured): $11.00
  • Competitor 3 (FBA): $11.00

Competitor 3 is the next Buy Box eligible competitor, who equals my Buy Box price, the system will reprice your listing with this formula:

Raise my Buy Box price to $0.01 below the competitor’s price => Competitor 3 - $0.01 = $11.00 - $0.01 = $10.99. Your newly adjusted price = $10.99, which is lower than my Buy Box price.

In Example 2, the scenario illustrates a situation where the next Buy Box eligible competitor matches the user’s current Buy Box Price. Consequently, the adjustment to the new price will be lower than the current Buy Box Price to stay competitive.

When Adjusted Price is above Max Price

You can select Do Not Reprice or Use Max Price when the adjusted price is above Max Price.

Lower my Buy Box Price to stay competitive

This setting will find the lowest price and adjust Your Price to be $0.01 below it (Competitor's Price - 0.01). This is a highly aggressive strategy intended to keep you in the Buy Box rotation for as long as possible.

Example:

  • Competitor 1: $14.00
  • (Buy Box) You: $15.00
  • Competitor 2: $16.00
You are in the Buy Box but you are not the lowest price. The system will find the lowest price which is at $14.00, and lower your price to $13.99.

Do not change my Buy Box price

By selecting this setting, when you're in the Buy Box, no repricing will occur.

Disable Buy Box Settings

By selecting this setting, Buy Box Settings will be replaced by Get Buy Box Settings. The system will apply Get Buy Box Settings even when you are in the Buy Box.

Please note that "Disable Buy Box Settings" will not be displayed when choosing to compete with "Buy Box Price”.
