Repricing Rule Feature: Competition found outside Min and Max prices Settings

-Compete with Lowest Price

-Compete with Buy Box Price

  • When Competing with Lowest Price

Users now get more flexibility to specify different repricing Rule responses to cope with different scenarios for No competition between Min and Max prices settings.

When competing with the Lowest Price in the Amazon marketplace, we can anticipate there are three kinds of possible competition scenarios outlined below.

1. All competitor prices are below the Min Price you set in Repricing Central

$ 30 Your Max Price
$ 22 Your Price
$ 21 Your Min Price
$ 20.8 Competitor 1
$ 20.5 Competitor 2
$ 20.3 Competitor 3
$ 20.1 Competitor 4
$ 20 Competitor 5

2. All competitor prices are above the Max Price you set in Repricing Central

$ 26.8 Competitor 5
$ 26.5 Competitor 4
$ 26.3 Competitor 3
$ 26.1 Competitor 2
$ 26 Competitor 1
$ 25 Your Max Price
$ 22 Your Price
$ 20 Your Min Price

3. When the competitor prices are diverse, some competitors price may be distributed above your Max Price while some are distributed below your Min Price.

$ 25.5 Competitor 5
$ 25.2 Competitor 4
$ 25.1 Competitor 3
$ 25 Your Max Price
$ 23 Your Price
$ 21 Your Min Price
$ 20.8 Competitor 1
$ 20.7 Competitor 2

The Previous Rule with Only One Repricing Response

In the previous version, sellers could only set one repricing response to cope with three scenarios. If the seller sets a rule approaching the Min Price, they might risk the possibility of sacrificing the profit if the competition turns into all competitors are above the Max Price. Conversely, if the seller sets a rule approaching the Max Price, the seller will provide a less competitive price if all eligible competitors are below your Max Price.

The New Rule with Versatile Repricing Response

In the new version of Repricing Central, we separate the settings corresponding to the three different competition scenarios. Offering more flexible settings to users in an effort to specify different repricing response to tackle different competition scenarios.

Follow the instruction below to find the No Competition between Min & Max Price.

Step 1: Go to Repricing Rule page and move down to Repricing Settings>>Compete with: Lowest Price>>Competition found outside Min & Max, you will see three settings corresponding to the three scenarios as discussed before.

  • When Compete with Buy Box Price

When competing with the Buy Box Price in the Amazon marketplace, we can anticipate there are two kinds of possible competition scenarios outlined below.

1. The Buy Box winner offers a price below the Min Price you set in Repricing Central

$ 23.5 Competitor 3
$ 23 Your Max Price
$ 22.5 Competitor 2
$ 22 Your Price
$ 21.5 Competitor 1
$ 21 Your Min Price
$ 20.5 Buy Box Price

2. The Buy Box winner offers a price above the Max Price you set in Repricing Central

$ 23.5 Buy Box Price
$ 23 Your Max Price
$ 22.5 Competitor 3
$ 22 Your Price
$ 21.5 Competitor 2
$ 21 Your Min Price
$ 20.8 Competitor 1

The Previous Rule with Only One Repricing Response

As presented in previous scenario cases, if seller designs a rule aiming at the Buy Box price, the Buy Box price could be above your Max Price or below your Min Price.

With the previous settings, sellers only can set a rule to cope with the two scenarios, so they are usually in a dilemma and don’t know if they should set a rule approaching the Min Price or the Max Price.

The New Rule with Versatile Repricing Response

In the new version of Repricing Central, we separate the settings corresponding to the two different competition scenarios. Offering more flexible settings to users so they can design different repricing to tackle when different competition scenarios happen.

Step 1: Go to Repricing Rule and move to Repricing Settings>>Compete with: Buy Box Price>>Buy Box Winners found outside Min & Max, you will see three settings corresponding to the two scenarios as discussed above.
